LEAK INVESTIGATION

A leak investigation is performed at locations of the roofing membrane, rooftop components, and facility walls suspect for moisture infiltration. The test consists of connecting a water hose to an exterior water source and spraying water onto the item being tested. Water is applied systematically, starting at the lowest points of the structure that may allow for moisture entry, to determine the sources of moisture infiltration. Our reports present the methodology, locations that tested positive for water entry and recommend the general scope of work for remediation.

Moisture in a roof or wall system may go unobserved for many years resulting in the accelerated deterioration of the roof or wall system from the inside out. This deterioration may result in: increased heating and cooling costs due to the insulation losing its R-value, increased possibility for damage during a high wind event due to the rusting of fasteners or the deterioration of adhesives; and, increased costs during roof replacement or wall remediation.
